Our final social tournament of the year, Ladies v Gents, on Oct 18, saw a welcome comeback success
for the Ladies, who halted the run of the Gents who had won the previous six contests.
Congratulations to the Ladies, who took ownership of the famous ‘Rolling Pin’ trophy and were able to move it slightly to the left to its new position above the Ladies' cloakroom door. Well done!
The Ladies team has unfortunately seen a depletion in numbers over the past few years – indeed since their dominance of this traditional feature up to 2016 – and this year they had only five players, so a Gent was loaned to make up the number for a two triples contest.
But despite being the Few, the Ladies conquered the Gents in the 16-end match, winning 39-31 on aggregate, with one rink won by each side.
