Our Pairs League competition day was held on Sunday, Oct 12, when this year
12 teams took part in a two-division round robin contest, with the top team
from each battling it out in the final to decide the champions.
Taking the trophy this y
ear were
Ivan Catchpole & Sean Langford,
who showed some class bowling
to overcome Martin Wilson &
Adam Smith.
Both pairs earned their place in the
final by winning four out of the
five matches in their division.
It was a memorable day for
Ivan and Sean whose triumph gave
them their first trophy success
at Wraysbury.
Men's League
Martin Wilson (pictured far left)
made up for missing out on the Men's Cup title by gaining a 22-10 victory against his old rival Colin Hood in a shoot-out final to take the League honours.
The men's league was played in two divisions and the winner of each played the final.
Both players won through winning all their matches, though Martin had fewer games due to withdrawals so was perhaps fresher for the final !
Ladies' League
Angela Teale won all her matches to become Ladies' League champion this year, going one better than her runner-up spot in the Ladies' Singles Cup.

Men’s Singles Championship Cup 2025
The men’s final this year was an entertaining and absorbing encounter with the result only decided in a thrilling last end – and it was Martyn Hammond (MH) who took the honours against Martin Wilson (MW) 18-17.
After a strong start by MH with a four on the first end, it was MW who took command, winning seven straight ends to go
11-5 up.
The match then got going as a contest, as winning ends went back and forth but after the 20th end MW lead by 5 shots and needed just one more to reach the 18 required.
However MH fought back and closed to just two shots adrift and three shots for a win.
The climax came on the 23rd end as MH held four, all within a foot of the jack. MW had the last wood and tried to get into the head but only managed to clip one of the woods and went through the smallest of gaps to leave MH the three shots needed for victory.
What a finish!
Ladies' Singles Championship Cup 2025
Jackie Carlton got on to the honours board for the first time when winning the Ladies Ladies’ Singles title in a close contest with Angela Teale, coming out on top 18-16 in the final.
