This year’s Pairs Championship Cup was won by Martin Wilson & Val Lambert with a convincing 22-1 victory against Fred Parsons & Howard Brooks in the final. 
The scoreline, though, doesn’t reflect how close the match was in the first half, as Fred & Howard put on a decent display of bowling early on and were frequently holding with woods around the jack.
But they were thwarted by some superb accurate play from skip Val who produced some brilliant deliveries to come in and take the ends.
Fred & Howard battled away to keep in the match but the pressure told and Martin & Val took command during the final four ends to run out deserving champions.
