Wraysbury Bowls Club

2016 Presentation Dinner

A special presentation was made at this year's awards to Graham Sinclair, designating him as an Honorary Life Member.

This was in recognition of his unstinting dedication to the club over many years, from some heavy lifting in its early days to organising injection of funds and much more behind the scenes.

Graham also received the President's Cup (the Claret Jug), given for outstanding services during the past

12 months.

Noted was his unbounding enthusiasm - including turning out for the club at the last minute when teams were short so as not to see a match cancelled and participation in the club competitions despite having difficulties with his legs this year.

All trophies were presented by our President Jack Pengelly.

Back on the podium for the Men's Knockout title again was Gregg Scott, who literally half-inched the trophy from runner-up Ian Smith (below) in a very close measure on the final end when both tied on 20 points.

Gregg also won the Pairs League trophy with Yvonne Gorrod.

A great comeback from Dorothea

Webb after being sidelined with injury to win the Ladies Knockout Championship.

She beat runner-up Avril Pearce in the final.

Pairs Knockout champions were

Julia Cream & Andy Doughton, (below)

who beat Avril Pearce & Dave Harrel in

the final

Val Lambert looking very happy as she collected the trophy for the winning the

Ladies League title.

Runner-up was Sue Bennett, who was last year's winner.

Doris Thompson was pleased to collect the 2015-16 Winter Cup Pairs trophy which she won with partner Roger Painter.

Winter Cup Runners-up were

Trevor Dobson & Derek Spence (below),

Derek also won the Men's League

Singles Trophy.

The Memorial Day Pairs Trophy 2016 went to Tony Britton & Vera Davies, who beat Gregg & Sue in the final of this annual event.

It was good to see Tony pick up a prize in his first year at the club.
